Oh, good, now that the MPAs are over...
Jun. 26th, 2006 08:18 am...I can speak my mind over my frustration
Oh, not over the fact that things on the site were jumbled. Yeah, it made it hard to read, but by next year, I'm sure Tella will have that all sorted out. It's that whole transitional thing.
And not because of the annoying chat - we just leaped over to LOM, and took over theres for a bit, lol. All good.
No, no, I'm rather ticked off over the writers who won who didn't turn in speeches. Not the ones who have good reasons, or at least some reason for not doing so. Not the ones that came in late because they didn't have the right address or somehow got lost in the mail.
I'm talking about the ones who just didn't care enough about the people who voted for them to write three or four bloody lines saying 'gee thanks, you're all fab' or something along that idea.
Yeah, it's not the Oscars or the Caldecott's, or the Tony's or the Emmys or anything like that. But people, it's as close as most of us are gonna get. And it does mean something to some people. And if it doesn't to you, then don't accept the nomination in the first place. That's just fucking arrogant. Sure, I admit my egotism, but at the end of the day, I know it's something pretty special for a bunch of people to all go and take the time to vote for a story, for the hard work done on a particular thing.
Next year... I am already scheming...
I have decided.. I am making it my personal mission to (slashers, cover your ears) win the het category. Hell yes. I will do it. If for no other reason than.. well, I plan to write that speech next year for myself.
Alright then.. where are my goats...
