so spoiled
I admit, wifi ruined me for anything else. When I switched from dial-up to wireless DSL last fall, it literally ruined me to using dial-up or anything with a cord attached ever again.
So a couple months ago when the router started to have issues, it was not good. Two weeks ago, I broke down and called, and was happy to find out that it was still under warrenty.
When it arrived, it didn't like my browsers, so I had to go search for the original disks from last year to get it installed. Then, last night as I finished... no connection. Not a happy unit. Would not connect.
Not a good thing to tell me at 2am after I'd spent too, too long trying to get it to work, and shutting it and the computer off multiple times.
I was expecting a long wait on the phone to deal with customer service. I practiced my 'if this p.o.s. doesn't work, I'm switching to Roadrunner' speech in the car on the way home.
As it turned out, there was no wait to speak to someone (!) and he was very patient with me... and... it was a total operator error -_- I was trying to get the thing to work with a .com email address that is really a .net but I never actually use it so I didn't realize I was putting something in wrong, and also, the system never kicked it back, so I never thought that was the trouble... anyhow... the point is... Internet! I love thee, non-creation of Al Gore (speaking of, I'm sure there's some video parodies out there I've missed of Al...)
That's all. Time to catch up.
