I get to kill Paris! I get to kill Paris!
Apr. 5th, 2006 11:34 amThe annual 'open mic' is coming up, and I like to think of my pieces spur of the moment, just before I need them. Best stuff comes that way.
I'm working on two pieces. One is a poem about Glorfindel, but where you could easily believe it's about a knight slaying a dragon, and the other is about the fall of Troy...
An apple was the tragic cause/when fair Paris broke the laws/ as set upon him by discord/ for Eris, she is ever bored/ and loves to create faux pas.
Behind the walls they could not be harmed/ where Trojans walked the streets unarmed/ their downfall you know of course/ was no more than a wooden horse/ for with it they were charmed.
That's just, obviously, the first little bit.. still working out the rest..
oh? you want to hear about Glorfindel, too?
That one I'm writing from the middle out, kinda.. here's a bit..
Whispers of wishes from the nearly deceased came as he tumbled down with the wily beast.
Xanthus, yet expired, they buried him well, and flowers sprung up where his body now dwells.
