let's hope this doesn't turn into another Unforgettable... speaking of which, I wrote some of that tonight, maybe this week it might get updated

today's word... anxiety...Read more... )

Now, I think a nap before work, if I can manage it. Been hard to sleep tonight.

I have a tooth that decided to split last night. The tooth actually doesn't hurt, which I suppose should worry me. The part of it that is sharp and dug into my tongue all day was the thorn in my side. I lectured twice, then taught for three hours, sounding like Sylvester the cat. Then, after three store runs to find SOMETHING to keep it from tearing my tongue to shreds... gum, wax, some stuff made since 1888 that didn't work either... the smaller part made an awful crunch noise as I was eating a very soft chicken taco. Figures.

So, I'm going to go to bed. At least it's not rubbing against my tongue anymore. I do have an appointment to see the d-word tomorrow afternoon. Me and them, we don't jive well together. Truth be told, I gave in around 4pm and Mark made an appointment for me. Had the piece come out sooner, I'd probably have said to hell with it until it started to hurt. So, probably for the better this way. Just wish I hadn't spent thirty bucks in non-working remedies to get to that point. Anyone need any wax? I have about four different kinds...

Also, kitteh!dramaz... was listening to what I thought was a howling coyote, and was concerned how close it sounded. No, no, it was Harley. And why? Because there was a ginger tom, with the fluffy white chest, a young'en, probably between 2 and 5 years, bright-eyed and sitting on the patio while Harley stared him down and howled. When Mr. Outsider saw me, he kinda made to leave, kinda made to go 'hey, you humans ever think about leaving your doors open maybe, huh?' He's about three shades lighter than Harley, and normal-cat-sized.

He sauntered into the neighbor's yard, and I thought that was that, but he came back around to the front. I know this, for Harley bolted from the back to the front and jumped into the window, where he hissed and snarled, for Mr. Outsider was right up how-do-you-do by the open window. When Oreo jumped into the window to see what was what, Harley and Oreo had it out with a smackdown extraordinaire. Mr. Outsider bounced off under the maple tree, but still watched for a while until we finally closed the window.

Mr. Outsider looks quite well-fed, and also seemed too friendly (unskittish... I did go out at one point, and he didn't run off, just watched and looked like he would have come closer had Harley not been all 'away with you, you punkass brat, this be my harem') but when the cold weather comes, if I still see him wandering about, you can be assured he'll find a home in the basement at the very least.

In other mammal news, Trousers was given a bunny cave thing to sleep in. He finds it much better to leap on, and then stand and stare at me from atop his perch, in a very 'i's been talkin' to them plot bunnehs' way. He's doing laps around the room right now, and damn, he's fast.
