Dear current muses,
I know it's difficult for us to try to get to know each other so quickly and jump in and write, but first of all, one of you is not new to this and should be trying to get the newbies to understand the way nano works. Second of all, just because you only have a name and an occupation is no reason to be a terrible muse. Be thankful for the fact you survived Gondolin, and get over it.
I shouldn't have to write this, but the truth is, the best muse of the bunch of you has actually been Glorfindel. Who, during this story, is dead, and yet has managed to come back for multiple flashbacks. Without being bribed with cheesecake! Obviously, if I had known this was going to happen, I would have written a story that didn't occur at the end of the First Age.
We're only 22k in, a number that I could potentially make up in four days if I had to start over. You seem like a swell bunch, but time we're at halfway point tomorrow. I'm giving you until the morning to make up your minds. After that, it's back to England. And without a doubt, the first scene I'll write is a certain uncooperative muse losing his head. Literally.
That is all.
Sincerely,
me
