Giant Marshmallows
Dec. 10th, 2010 12:38 amSnowed again today. Okay, that's not much of an update for Wisconsin.
Anyhow, was all settled in to watch The Apprentice. Had my homemade pear pie and my Sprite and had just taken an hour nap and figured after we'd go take care of the driveway before bed.
Twenty minutes before the end, I get an emergency call from my mom. She was parked in front of the campus waiting for dad to come out of class (he and I work at the same campus of the same college, for those just tuning in recently), when a student slid their car into the back of her truck. When she got out to see if there was damage, the student drove off.
Well, the truck was basically okay, but when she got out, she did it so fast that the door locked, the car was on, her purse and phone were in the car, and now she was out in the snow. She tried to flag down the security car, but he didn't see her. So, she went in (truck still outside, locked, running) and called me. Dad doesn't carry a copy of her truck key with him (I'm sure he will now!!), so I had to drive dad back to their house, play find the key (which actually did not take very long), and then we headed back, dad in his car now, and Mark and I in ours.
Roads were crap. Actually, okay, they weren't super horrible, but still. And roads with snow are crap. At least I know what to expect tomorrow morning. Which... is in seven hours. Which means I should not be on LOTRO right now, but, I am. Oh well.
So, we got home, might as well take care of the driveway. We finally made it in just before midnight at which point I announced that I was going to take a shower and then expected a mug of cocoa with one super-giant marshmallow in it. None of those tiny little marshmallows (although I do like those new multicolored marshmallows they have that are like neon colors, especially the blue ones -- blue marshmallows ftw!). When Mark inquired as to how this would occur, I informed him I expected my wonderful husband to find a way for this to magically occur.
So I sit here typing and drinking cocoa with one GIANT marshmallow that just about takes up the whole surface of it. The (wait for it) ONE MARSHMALLOW TO RULE THEM ALL.
Oh, did I mention that we have a pink Christmas tree this year? Also, a black one.
And black garland on the pink tree.
I am so behind on the whole Christmas card thing. You all wanted New Year's cards instead this year, right? That's what I thought...
I also drew a picture of Gildor during November that I really need to scan. I'm pretty happy on how the gypsy elf turned out.
Due to a quote from the film "Peaceful Warrior", he's starting to grow on me. Shh, don't tell Erestor....
