Speaking of Pyro! Glorfindel...

More Pyro! Glorfindel

I may have to try to string all of these together somehow

(i know, i know, wrong person in the icon, but the fire is appropriate... don't hand him the lantern, Gildor!!)

"Melpomaen?"

"I vote for the measure," he said, which was expected for he had brought forth the matter to begin with.

"Saelbeth?"

"I agree with Melpomaen. Aye."

Erestor bit his lip, his eyes falling upon Lindir, who was avoiding his gaze.

Elrond marked Saelbeth's vote on his journal and looked to the minstrel. "Lindir?"

Now Lindir looked at Erestor, apologetic. "I am sorry, Lord Erestor. I know you have befriended him, but he poses a great danger to all of us. It is a wonder Gondolin was not destroyed from the inside out! He has to go."

"Lindir, he just needs time to adjust. Once he becomes more acclimated with being reembodied--"

"Erestor, he has had nineteen years! Do you know how many things he has set on fire? Do you know how many elflings we have at the school who are afraid of him, and afraid that they shall be burned to death at night should he drop an ember or knock over a candle?" Lindir shook his head. "This has to stop."

"Erestor." Elrond's voice was gentle as his chief adviser looked at him. "Even if Lindir sides with you, my vote will then be the deciding one. Whether it is he or I, the outcome will be the same. Glorfindel must not remain here."

"So you will throw him out, leave him to wander? What sort of thanks is that to a deserving hero?" argued Erestor.

"I have voiced my thanks to him often, but the safety of Imladris is at stake here. He will not be thrown out, he will be asked to leave, and I think he shall do so without much disagreement. This is not the right place for him. I will provide provisions and whatever he might require."

"But you are still casting him out of Rivendell. If he refuses, you will still make him go."

Slowly, Elrond nodded. "You will have time to say goodbye to him, Erestor, do not worry."

Saelbeth snorted. "I would not get too close, though, Erestor. You do not want him to singe your hair or robes."

Erestor crossed his arms over his chest. "This is ridiculous, but if you are set upon this course, I will not be a party to it. My vote is nay. If he goes, then I go."

The room was silent for a long while. Finally, Elrond made a notation in his journal. "It saddens me to lose you, Erestor, for your counsel was always wise, but if this is your decision, then so be it. I dismiss you from your position and wish you good will in the future."

Everyone else in the room was in shock, but none so much as Erestor himself was. He took a deep breath, let is out slowly, and nodded without saying a word. When he reached the door, he turned around, as if he was going to speak, but after a long, hard look at Elrond, left the chamber.
