What a political minefield...if Gondolin hadn't been betrayed, then it would have eventually torn itself apart from the inside, is my guess. I suspect Res is being maneuvered into the play out of revenge? Wouldn't be a bit surprised. Turgon's treatment of Glorfindel was a welcome surprise, and long overdue. Being a war hero does have advantages. Keep going, girl...this tale has more twists and turns than forty miles of bad road!
