I'll have pictures later, but last night we adopted a pair of peach faced lovebirds. Again, as with our cats, this was a case of the owners planning to just let them go once they weather was nice. Not smart with domesticated animals. Luckily, Jake got a hold of them as the interim keeper until a home could be found.

Anyhow, they're with us now. We knew one of them was named Felix, but the other one? The owners forgot what they named it (hard to tell if we've got hims or hers or a him and a her). So, it seemed if you've got a Felix, you should have an Oscar. Felix has a pale yellow stripe on the side of either wing, but otherwise, they look the same. One is supposed to be fatter than the other, but they both look the same size to me.

They're quite friendly and social and don't need to be coaxed out -- as soon as the door is open, they're pushing each other aside for who gets to hop onto us first. They seem absolutely uninterested with the cats (they were watching the goldfish, though, who is the size of both of them put together)-- which of course makes the cats 100% interested in them. Harley and Oreo have taken turns guarding the bedroom door where we have them for now. After the move, the birds will live in my library.
