Tonight should be fun as I wade through the basement

So, we had some big storms up here the other day, no biggie.

Husband went into the basement the other day to do laundry.

I get greeted when I came home with 'Yeah, there was flooding downstairs...'

Dammit. Never flooded before. Never thought to even look. Damn.

So, my first reaction... maybe it'll go away?

Yesterday, I went down to look. Shit. Not bad, it seems, but we had some stuff on the floor. Idiots. We have shelves, we have this wooden stuff... why did I put stuff on the floor?

I have to go rescue the horsie. Carosel horse mounted on a wood thing with a pole... yeah... don't you have one in your basement, too?

It's a storage locker thing... it looks like maybe an inch of water there now... but I don't know where it would have been on... Tuesday? yeah, Tuesday, I think

So, that is what I shall do tonight. Drag everything out of there. I planned to this summer anyhow. I hate to think what got ruined. I have a bad feeling about the sheet music. Plan had been to take it out, go through it, and ship as much of it to Zee as she would be able to use. That may not happen, depending on where those were.

Not how I wanted to spend my weekend. Le sigh.

In other news: Cows. And things that are yellow-green and furry.
