It was a long nice service. Also, there was no singing.. well, they had someone professional singing, and he was good, but that was it.

And while we've been to a lot of Lutheran weddings, this was the first one where the minister was really preachin'. He was all 'fire and brimstone, beware all your enemies including the Devil, so many marriages fail'. (He did mention that they were both 'mature Christians', which was good, because they've dealt with A LOT, so I don't think this is a marriage to be worried about the success of.)

Anyhow, we got back, and Mark pointed out that there was a mention of the wife submitting to the husband in the sermon, and then he says 'we didn't have that at ours...'

Heh heh heh...

Oh! There was also nothing about the whole 'if anyone has any objections thing' (which we had taken out of our ceremony). Is that something that's starting to go by the wayside now?

The church was beautiful, as were all the dresses, flowers, etc. We got some good pictures (and some bad ones, darn flash went off sometimes when it shouldn't have).

Now there's a long wait before the dinner/reception, so we're back at home sitting around in nice clothes avoiding the cats. Speaking of, there's two white hairs on me already -- yeesh!

Was nice to see a bunch of people from work that I'd normally not see all together (or even very often), and also, spouses and kids of coworkers. Good times. As one coworker remarked, we'd never seen each other outside before -- which is quite true.

Weddings always provide plot bunnies, of course. Not that I'm needing any more right now.
