New outdoor friend

Today when Mark was mowing the lawn, he had some assistance.

This little guy was attempting some first flights in the front yard where he lives in the maple tree. When Mark came by with the lawn mower, the birdie half-flew half-fell out of the tree and right onto the top of the lawnmower. Instead of freaking out, little birdie hopped onto one of the wires and decided to take a ride around while Mark finished the yard. Mark stopped the mower a few times, but birdie decided not to hop off of fly away.

After the yard was done, we took some pics. Then I offered a hand to hop to like I do with our lovebirds, and the little guy must have figured out my intentions as he decided to come with me (I actually expected him to fly off). Took him back to the front yard and over to his tree. Once it was clear that mom was up in the nest, I raised my hand up. Took a few chirps of coaxing to baby bird, but eventually he hop/flew to the nearest branch and up from branch to branch back to the nest.

(Saw later that on the ground under the tree, one of the bird's siblings did not do so well, either failed flying or from a recent storm. :( Keeping an eye on the tree to make sure our new little friend fares better.)
