So if you want to help, but you aren't into feeding the homeless and don't know what else there is, your local UW is always happy to take calls or invite you in. We're happiest when we can help others to take part.
Also, watch your local UW's website or even just your local papers. We pimp local business fundraisers, and a lot of them are really fun. Right now in Akron, there is an upcoming Texas Hold 'Em night, along with a horse racing event that has amazing prizes, and our Docs Who Rock concert. So if you're willing to pay for entertainment to treat yourself now and then, consider local entertainment events that send all proceeds to a charity or nonprofit. :>
