~Cross the Sea~

I trusted you, protected you, never rejected you
You were my stars, my sky, my life
I cared for you, loved you, put nothing else above you
I would have bound to you and made you my wife

But I was
Just another stone in your path
Now you’re facing the wrath
You turned around without looking back at me

Left me to die
And I’ll never know why
But for you – I’ll cross the sea

I wasn’t
Part of your plan
Then to the East you ran
Not a thought of what you’d do to me

You still hold my soul
I want you to just let me go
Why won’t you just set me free?

Somewhere in my mind
I’m still with you
In our little house
The one with the view

When I come through the door
At the end of the day
I hold you close
You tell me to stay

We sit close together
I tuck our son into bed
But none of that will happen now
Because of everything you never said

If I kiss you, will you kiss back?
Will your lips be sweet as wine?
You remind me of the Eldar days
Of honey and sunshine

If I touch you, will you touch me?
Is your skin as soft as a peach?
I know not why I think this way
Of forbidden, out-of-reach

If I love you, will you love me?
Am I simply just a fantasy?
I think I’m only just a dream
Of impossibility

You care for me and I for you
Must there still be more?
I fear to kiss, to touch, to love
So simple these acts, yet so hard
I’ve thought to take you in my arms
