[personal profile] zhie

1. Who are you?
I am the Zhie. I am the librarian. I am... kinda hungry 'cause it's lunchtime.

2. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you?
I'm a little bit on the odd side. Mom likes to say I'm 'a free spirit'.
I'm actually fairly nice, despite what the goats say.
I'm crushing your head! *pinches fingers together* Crush! Crush! Crush!

3. When you aren’t filling out question surveys like this one what are you doing?
Answering questions. Wait... that's what I'm doing now... damn.

4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you like the least (or if you are out of school, think of the classes you did like and didn’t like at the time).
Well, I teach people how to research; I guess I like teaching the history classes the best. I enjoyed most, besides all the library classes I took back when I was in school, my Animation and Film study classes, and my Bowling class. (Hey, any classes where you can drink alcohol during class rocks.)

5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
To write my novel. Mei and Laura and a few others know more what I'm talking about on that.

6. Where will you be in 5 years?
What, it's Tuesday? Probably... right here in this spot.

7. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I don't wanna grow up! I'm a Toys-R-Us kid!

8. Are you more child-like or childish?
BOTH. Muchly. Wait... *thinks* meh.

9. What is the last thing you said out loud?
"Sorry, we don't have W2 forms here." Exciting, I know.

10. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now?
Crazy Train by Ozzy

11. Have you ever taken martial arts classes?
Yes, I took a semester of karate. Took a kickboxing class at the same time. It may not look like I can, but I can execute a wicked roundhouse kick.

12. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same?
It has it's ups and downs.

13. Does time really heal all wounds?
*pouts* No. Mentally, yeah, I'm good, but, oy, though I survived Reyes, I'd rather not be a Reyes survivor, if that makes sense... but, at least I'm not so bad off as most with that. 'Cause, did I mention my wicked roundhouse kick? Hell yeah.

14. How do you handle a rainy day?
I'm singin' in the rain, just singin' in the rain... I love the rain.

15. Which is worse…losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights?
Luggage. That would hork me off. Laura lost her luggage when we all met up in Florida. Blah. Untangling lights is like a puzzle... like a rubix cube...

16. How is your relationship with your parents?
Love 'em. And luckily, they seem to tollerate me... heh.

Will you miss them when they are gone?
Yes, so let's not dwell on that. (I will simply have to pretend that Nana and Ada sailed west...)

17. Do you tend to be aware of what is going on around you?
Sometimes. There are times I will completely zone out, and there's nothing I can do. I just literally have to walk away or take a nap or something so that I can concentrate and actually be of use - answer questions and the like. However, I can still run on autopilot during these 'zone out' times. I can walk, drive, even answer things like 'who is on the phone'. I can't, however, write or catalog a book or something that requires me to use any sort of reasoning skills. But not during those strange times, then yes, I am very aware and have a photographic memory.

18. What is the truest thing that you know?
"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." - FDR

19. What do you want your life to be like, as the future takes clearer shape?
I'm good. I like surprises.

20. Have you ever been given a second chance?
And a third and fourth, and sometimes, fifth... wait, no, that was martinis...

21. Are you more of a giver or a taker?
Mostly a giver, but I feed off of the happiness of those I give to, so it's a mutual relationship.

22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart?
No, because I would assume with an open heart, I'd be heavily sedated, and that is not the time for decision making...

23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Anytime I have one of my joints lock up, especially if it's both knees at once. I still remember the first time it happened, I was about four, and no one knew why - luckily Gramma helped me to straighten my legs out and rubbed my knees and eventually it was better, but when you're kneeling down and suddenly you have pain shooting through your legs and don't have control over them, it's not just painful, it's damn scary.

24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Having to tell my dad that his little brother shot himself because his sister and his sister-in-law didn't want to do it (let me rephrase; they didn't want him to know, but I told them on the phone that they couldn't NOT tell him what happened). That was fucking hard. I had to drive over, tell him, and then hold my dad while he cried about not having a baby brother anymore. He wasn't even allowed to go to the funeral. It fucking sucked.

25. Who have you hugged today?
Mark, Harley and Oreo, but I plan on pouncing Bonnie and Bruce and maybe Monty if I can find her.

26. Who has done something today to show they care about you?
Mark, and also my boss. My boss is awesome. And my weekend librarian. He's cool, too.

27. Do you have a lot to learn?
I have a lot I want to learn..

28. If you could learn how to do three things just by wishing and not by working what would they be?
1. I want to know how to fix cars.
2. I'd like to be able to make pottery.
3. But most important, I'd like to know how to ride a horse. I've never even been on a horse. I used to be terribly frightened of them, actually, but, they're just like big goats with saddles, right? And, I like goats...

29. Which do you remember the longest: what other people say, what other people do or how other people make you feel?
How they make me feel.

30. What are the key ingredients to having a good relationship?
Understanding, snuggles (whether physical, mental, or virtual) and a big enough bucket of popcorn for everyone to share.

31. What 3 things do you want to do before you die?
1. Finish my novel.
2. Ride a horse.
3. Make sure all my sibs are happy.

32. What three things would you want to die to avoid doing?
Bah... I am a warrior... bring it on...

33. Is there a cause you believe in more than any other cause?
Love. Love is all we need. Love lifts us up where we belong. It's the only thing that there's just too little of. :-*

The 19..
20’s: JAZZ, baby, JAZZ!

70’s: Peace, love, and harmony, and right at the end, I snuck on in.
80’s: Walk like an Egyptian, ThunderCats, I want to grow up to be the President, big hair, bright colors, and not fitting in.
90’s: It sucked. What the hell was on the radio? Jazz again, and bass.
2000 (so far): Politics, and sliding away from that. Marriage, Tolkien, libraries, books, and a strangeness to the world.

35. Which decade do you feel the most special connection to and why?

39. What Disney villain are you the most like and why?
Oh, we tried this down in Disney World! I think I ended up being the wicked stepmother from Cinderella. But I liked the good Disney character I ended up with better, which was Lady the doggie from Lady & The Tramp. (The last question was 'Would you like to have nice people over for dinner or have nice people for dinner?', so that's how you determined villain or not)

40. Have you ever been a girl scout/boy scout?
Yes, but I had to switch troops when we moved and the one I ended up in sucked.

41. If you were traveling to another continent would you rather fly or take a boat?
If I had the time, I'd go with a boat.

42. Why is the sky blue during the day and black at night?
Because Elbereth's stars wouldn't show up at night if the sky was blue, silly, and Manwe's clouds would look awful against a black backdrop. Every elfling knows that! (Oh, I have to use that in a story now...)

43. What does your name mean?
Jennifer means something about white, white lady or something like that. The 'elvish' of Jennifer is Faerfaen. Zhie is a contraction of the name Zielinski, which roughly means 'green'.

International Goat Day. It would be fun.

66. What holiday shouldn't exist but does?
I like holidays. We could use a few more.

67. What's the best joke you ever heard?
My sister asked a family friend who is a nun one day if she knew how to make a Brownie Smile. This is in reference to a song 'My Brownie Smile' that the pre-girl scouts sing. The nun answered, and quite quickly at that, 'No, but I know how to make a Boy Scout smile.' At the time, Maggie and Monty didn't get it, but TJ and I did...

All the made up places in my dreams.

70. Do you have any deep dark secrets or are you pretty much up front?
As far as I know, I don't have any deep dark secrets. I have one or two things I keep to myself because people would likely run for the hills. However, if anyone asks a question, I will answer it. It's how Laura knows so much, she asks questions, I answer questions. I figure, if you don't ask, you probably don't REALLY want to know. ^_^

71. What is under your bed right now?
Crap, lots of stuff. A dot matrix printer. And likely, this time of day, a cat.

Practically any polka... 'Who stole the keeshka' is a personal favorite, which i have been known to sing aloud in grocery stores

Da pole. It's too hot for me even here sometimes.

83. Would you rather give up listening to music or watching television?
TV gets old awfully fast.

seeing vomit

87. What was the last thing you paid for?
tacos, last night. TACOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS. yum

88. Are you a coupon clipper?
For fast food stuffs, but that's cause I have not the time to make food, and neither does Mark, so we eat out immensely, but we figured out that actually, it's cheaper for us to do that.

89. Get anything good in the mail recently?
I got a 5 bucks off coupon from Half Price Books.

90. Which would you rather take as a gym class...dancing, sailing, karate, or bowling?
Aw, fuck. I know all those already. Can I do a little of all of them?

91. In Star Trek people 'beam' back and forth between different places. What this means is they stand in a little tube and their molecules are deconstructed and sent to another tube somewhere else where they are reassembled. Only problem is when the molecules are deconstructed the person is dead. When they are put back together it is only a clone that has all the dead person's memories. So...
Is the person who gets beamed the same person on both ends?
Yes, but I, like Bones, will be taking the shuttlecraft to the planet...

92. What insects are you afraid of?
None, but I hate worms.

93. If you could print any phrase on a T-shirt, what would it say?
I had one airbrushed for me that says 'Kiss my Bass' that I used to wear to jazz seminars, so, I'm set already.

94. What's the most eccentric thing you have ever worn?
I wore the Snape robes/Erestor robes (depending on your fandom) one day to return them to Monty. This meant, it was the middle of a summer day with lots of people on the busy street my parents live on, including their at the time wacky neighbors. I got out of the car, purposely parking across the street so that I could walk across (btw, they live diagonally from the city's post office with a school a couple blocks one way and downtown two blocks the other way). I then proceded to strip the robes off and hand them to her, until I was just wearing shorts and a tshirt. Our mother was gardening in the front yard during all this - oh, yes, and I was wearing a camo beach hat as well to complete the ensemble. Yes, yes.

95. If you could pick one food that you could eat all you wanted but it would have no effect on how much you weigh, what food would it be?
cheesecake

96. What are your parents interested in?
carpentry, woodworking, numbers (they're accountants), WWII history (that's dad), Irish stuff (that's mom)... and mom's an ordained minister for some religion or another and marries people... yes, for those of you who just went 'huh?', my parents aren't exactly the religion that they taught all us kids to be years ago, and yet I am, so go figure. But then, it was always mom who said, 'it doesn't matter what you believe in, but you should believe in something'.

97. Have you ever caught an insect and kept it as a pet?
Mark bought me flowers once and there was a cocoon on one of the stems. I cut that off and put it into a little plastic container, but nothing happened. I set it on the back of the kitchen table and just forgot about it... until one day, I noticed this moth sitting on the edge looking at me. By then, it was the dead of winter, and so letting it out would have been death for it. So, I found out what it liked, got some of whatever it was and put it in the dish for it. For a couple weeks, we would see it here or there... on a couch cushion, on the lamp shade.

Have you ever caught and tamed a wild animal?
No, but I've had a lot of wild animals that just let me go up to them and touch them - rabbits and chipmunks and raccoons, and butterflies like to land on me. Mark thinks it's the cutest thing. Mom calls me 'Pocahontas' when it happens.

99. When do you feel your life energy the strongest?
Around 11am

100. You are spending the night alone in the woods and may bring only 3 items with you. What do you bring?

*grin* I'm glad it's going around. I started suffering from question 28.

And I must second the question: what's with the goat? They eat every darn thing. My parents used to have one.

As usual, I found myself laughing through it. Don't think you can write anything that doesn't make me chuckle - and that's a good thing.
*hugs*
