To Gaff or not to Gaff

There has been a bit of discussion 'round the LJ friends list regarding the gaffers of GodAwfulFanFiction.

I'm not going to get into what a bunch of schmucks they are for the most part over there, or how their comments tend to hurt instead of help young or inexperienced writers get better. Or, how shitty they were to countless writers I know for the fact that they cannot seem to handle creativity and personal expression.

However... *grins*

This is a PERFECT opportunity for me to wave the ol' DreamElf banner, for DreamElf began in part because of a number of things, and one such thing was the nastiness of the gaffing that happens to many a Mary Sue writer. So, gaff on gaffers... we still have all the good cheesecake at DE. And, goats. So, nyah.

I do have to admit that there is a lot of GAFF worthy fics sporked there, but yeah, they can be rather hurtful as well. I'm surprised my unfinished one never ended up there. Probably too boring, lol. I love canon, I love au, I love fluffy, silly smutty stuff. It's the stupid stuff that kills me. That and the "I don't have a beta but I am posting this grammar, punctuation and spelling nightmare anyway" kind of fics.
