Angelfire!!! No!!! (posted here cause she's got it on no commenty thingie, naughty naughty)
**wraps self around Angelfire's legs and clings**
YOU CAN'T JUST STOP WRITING! I WON'T ALLOW IT!!
How did you come to this conclusion? Tis false and wrong and also untrue.
Now. I am going to hazard a guess that you've not done a whole lot of massive amounts of writing, and that you're frustrated with a) lack of reviews b) nastiness of some reviewers c) own lack of confidence d) combination of above and other factors
Let me tell you a little bit about this chickie I know who fancied herself a writer.
When she was in 2nd grade, her teacher told her to stop writing because her ideas were 'perverted' and 'unacceptable'
When she was in 3rd grade, they tossed her into the lowest reading group and the highest math group - probably to get her mind on other things
When she was in 4th grade, she was repeatedly getting Ds and Fs on creative writing assignments. Furthermore, her teacher would hang up these papers with bad grades, circle the grade and display them on the door in the hallway for the entire school to pass by and see
When she was in high school on the newspaper staff, the editor told her to write the horoscopes because 'we have to let you do something'
When she was in college, she was told it was a good thing she wasn't going to do this for a living
Online, someone told her once she was a sick, sick, sick bastard and should go to hell and die. They also said 'you sir whack off to this in front of your computer' (too bad they couldn't figure out she wasn't a guy)
She used to write many stories where she would mess up the punctuation. Said she "She would write her dialogue like this." Was what she said. "And no one corrected her." She also said. "Not for almost five years and three fandoms of online writing." She added.
And.. although I've dealt with a lot of people who said I couldn't there have also been those who have said I can.
So now I am going to tell you. Angelfire, you can write. You do write great stories, and you should not stop writing them. You will continue to get better and better.
I myself admit, with every chapter of every story, my writing improves. I can look at something from a week ago and see that I improve. At the onset, it's rocky, but you just have to keep climbing. Please don't give up!
