Tell me your five great fictional loves. They can be literary, in film, or on television.

Tell me who they are and why you fell in love with them.

1. Mr. Darcy, Pride and Prejudice -- One of my all time favorite novels. I read it for fun the year before we were all forced to read it. So, then, the second time around it just felt kinda dirty, considering the Mr. Darcy fantasies my mind was coming up with. Then, when they had us watch the film in class, I swear, it was like porn for me. I have this thing for really strong, manly man types (and, yeah, in that novel, Darcy was the manly man of it).

2. Benedick, Much Ado About Nothing -- What is there not to love about this guy?! And that Kenneth Branagh portrayed him so well made it all that much better for me when I saw the movie version.

3. Yorgi, XXX --- Okay, so after seeing the trilogy and being told that Marton Csokas and Hugo Weaving were both wonderful actors, I had to go see their other movies... Timeline was going to be a given, I had read the book, and same with Aeon Flux since I adored that series. I hadn't even seen the Matrix at the point that the second Matrix movie came out, so I had to back track a little -- I don't watch as many contemporary movies as the average person does. When I rented XXX and brought it home for an afternoon off after, oy, someone on the flist's suggestion, gah, can't recall who now, I thought the movie as a whole was sort of lame, the plot, meh, the dialogue, not so interesting... but... I used the scene select to hear everything Yorgi said again and again and the deleted scenes and all that. Very nice. I have a thing for guys who have dark hair, speak with an accent, look good with their shirts off, and happen to look a lot like Marton Csokas, apparently...

btw, Monty and I adopted a plot bunny by watching the scene where he's in a robe and talking on the phone and turning off the volume so we could speak our own dialogue into that part and have 'Celeborn' conversing with 'Thranduil'... much amusing, prolly never get written, though.

4. Richard Karinsky, Caroline in the City -- I loved that show, and used to catch it on my lunch break. It came on right before The Nanny (and I suppose the honorable mention to this list would be Maxwell Sheffield, maybe... hmm... have to think on that). I thought Richard was adorable; I saw the show after it went into syndication, so I think there were already no new episodes being filmed. Richard is a lot like Mark, or vice versa, so I suppose that's why (and there was many a time when I totally understood Caroline and why she did or said things; the only other TV character I can relate to on that sort level is Lorelai Gilmore.. I've found I just can't connect with most of the characters/shows because it's not real, at least, not my reality.. but since I live in a place very much like Stars Hollow, and I can point to people and go 'yup, that's so-and-so'... but let's get on with the list, shall we?)

5. Glorfindel, Lord of the Rings; Silmarillion -- Alright, I'll admit it. I write him gay most of the time because I don't want to share him. I don't need a bunch of ellyth running about snagging him away or even just one uber strong one that keeps showing up. What can I say that Tolkien didn't? He was the most beloved of Gondolin - you know he had to be a sweetheart. (And... quite possibly gay, considering such things... but I'm not going to dwell on that)

Eheh, Mr. Darcy would certainly be on my list if I wasn't so lazy. KB as Benedick melts my knees too, but I might have not thought of him. As for Tolkien's work, I have only one word: MAGLOR!!! :D

OOOOOOOO Totally snagged! Active fantsy of Giancarlo Esposito as I type! And agree, when I had a tv, I thought Gilmore Girls was the most realistic show...
