oops, here's the other one

Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog entry with five complete lies about yourself. That is, five things about you that are completely not true. Not even slightly. THEN hide in the entry a 6th line, something that is absolutely TRUE and the first person to guess which one is true wins. :) Then tag up to five people you want to turn into compulsive liars too.
The problem with this is, it's going to be no fun... I mean, whatever lies i make up about myself will be blatently obvious, won't they? I'm much too open about myself... ah, well, let's try it anyhow...
1. I read books constantly and finish about four or five novels every month.
2. I am one of the most organized people, and have a very systematic approach to filing and keeping personal records.
3. I love playing video games and spend a lot of my freetime doing so.
4. I arrange the books on my personal shelves at home not by what fits best where, but in dewey decimal classification order.
5. Often, I dream that I am catalogging books.
6. My entire collection of books is available on a searchable Microsoft Access file on my computer.
there we are... enjoy...oh, taggies... how about radric, cheezey, purrsia, chanur2000, and unicornwalker?

Date: 2006-08-05 03:21 am (UTC)#1... The last time I read a novel that wasn't something that I was reading with someone else or supplementing audio book versions of it from cover to cover was at least five years ago. I am not a big fan of popular fiction; the majority of what I read is non-fiction, and that isn't usually stuff one would read cover to cover.
It was probably a children's book that I read, too, though I can't quite recall which it would have been.
I think the last 'adult' novel I read cover to cover was L.A. Confidential, and that was back in 1998/1999, somewhere around there. And previous to that, the last adult novel before that one was Brave New World, which would have been 1996/1997. If it's fiction, I have a preference to having someone read the story to me, and even then, I get bored fast a lot of the time (or sidetracked because I sit there going 'well, what they should have done was....).
#5 - I have thankfully never catalogged in my sleep (though by now you'd think I would have...) BUT, I have written html code in my sleep, and other computer coding, too. And I've written music in my sleep, too. There were also times I thought I was writing or typing in my sleep... but, never with the catalogging. Perhaps, on day...

The good - you have narrowed the choices by 25% ^_^ hee hee
Video games actual frustrate me more often than not. I have a bunch of them that i never play, some that have yet to be unwrapped, sadly enough, one of them is one of the lotr ones.
What I do play are racing games, or simulation games/rpg (Rollercoaster Tycoon, Pharoah, Sims, Pokemon) but even that is rare. It ticks me off when I can't get something to work right (like, Mario to jump over a ravine, and he keeps sliding to the cliff on the other side, gahhh!).
What little free time I do have is spent writing, playing online, sewing, occassionally woodworking, playing bass. I'm not even sure if the video game system is hooked up at the moment... lol
