I know how to solve the Marquette Gold Whatever Problem!

A little back history...

Marquette University, a Catholic college, long ago had a basketball team called The Marquette Warriors.

About a decade ago, people decide 'ooo, warriors bad'. These people were the shmucks on the directors board and things like that.

So, they changed to The Marquette Golden Eagles.

No one really liked it, and kept making fun of it. So, yesterday, they made another change.

They are now: The Marquette Gold

LAME. No one likes it.

They don't want to go back to warriors, for fear it will offend. *raises hand* I'm okay with warriors. I can say that, too, without being scolded. Native blood in this cheetah. Anyhow...

Solution:

Some people like the golden eagles. Some people like the warriors.

Long ago, in a country across the sea, their lived a man who dreamed of faery and wrote of amazing tales. One day, this man thought, 'hmm, a place for my manuscripts would be nice' and along came this place in Wisconsin with 10,000 buckeroos for the nice man to have for a bunch of old papers about a quest and a magic ring.

The Golden Warriors

...with the image of Glorfindel slaying the balrog as the mascot type thing.

Think about it. Banners of the House of the Golden Flower flying over the halls of the Marquette. What a beautiful site it would be.
