I feel like this is the first week I've actually gone and brought something to the realm of livejournaldom instead of always having to post 'stolen from' and 'pirated away from' and 'mine now!', so, I don't recall how the heck I stumbled upon the http://www.oneword.com deal, but, woohoo!

And now, an added bonus... they have a poetry bit, too... joy!

Okay, drabbling first..

The bubbles surfaced on the lake, popping after they floated across for brief moments. Elrond finally surfaced, absolutely soaked, with his twin sons far on the other side of the lake laughing. He shook his fist at them, but playfull, and then swam

The word is... )

and now, I present... http://www.poetc.com/

or... not. bloody thing requires registration... so... nevermind, i'm too damn impatient (hee hee, not taking three minutes for a sixty second shot at something... am I right? grr)

hmm, wonder if poetry.com still has the poetry in motion bit

ah, it seems they do

wait a sec, I have my own one of these... probably the only thing i have on my sites that i have for both TC and LOTR...

-_-

It's friday isn't it?

Damn, I think I'm going senile...

Yeah, I am, 'cause I thought I sent this and then... oh, look what's sitting on this window I nearly closed.

Well, there you go. Someone add a statistic for that. Cheetahs go senile right before 26. Please make a note of it.

I did this yesterday. I know I did. Grr. Arg. It ran away. Bad meme.

Okay, doing it again, I cannot guarantee it to be as witty, but I'll give it a go...

1) Total number of films I own on DVD/Video: Way more than I can watch in one night. I would guess somewhere in the realm of seven hundred videos and something like a hundred DVDs. But I don't call them that: I refer to them as my 'audio-visual collection'. ^_^

2) The last film I bought: Elektra; had a rat named Elektra, too, for a while, hyper little thing she was!

3) The last film I watched: Was supposed to see SinCity last night. Kitchen Sink decided we were going to have an in-house showing of 'Sink the Bismark' instead, so instead, I was cleaning up a flooded kitchen (all the time thinking [livejournal.com profile] bookofnicodemus has no water, and I have WAY too much)... okay, so, last one was 'Meet the Fockers', which was hard for me to watch because 'Meet the Parents' was the last film that Uncle Mark and I watched *sigh* missing my crazy uncle a lot this week... anyhow... I was glad I watched it, it was hilarious, and the fact that my Dr.Zhie persona is a sex therapist made it that much more silly

4) Five films that I watch a lot or mean a lot to me: (if i gave it more thought, i'd have some substitutions, i'm sure)

Clue - Big with the sibs watching it together. Silly movie, loved repeating large chunks or entire movie with sibs. Great fun, good times.

The Ten Commandments - Moses Dance! hee hee, yes, another sib thing... and on the other hand, I adore Yul and Eddie G. so having them both in the same movie was simply delightful, especially Yul as pharoah. I can dig that. Besides all that, awesome plot line -- death, debauchery, betrayal, wrath of God -- doesn't get much better than this!

The Greatest Show on Earth - A little over the top dramatically on parts, and yet, so emotionally stimulating. I love it, love it, love it. It's even got a trampoline and elephants!

1776 - Sit down, John! Sit down, John! For God sakes, John, sit down! -- somebody open up a window! Okay... few of you know, but now you all will, that pre-librarian, post-politics, I spent a semester as a history major. I was planning to have special emphasis on Presidental History and Revolutionary History and then go to law school. But, I guess I'm just too cuddly and giggly for that sort of thing, and besides, I've got the shushing motion down pat. But I love this movie. And it was my mum who introduced it to me, singing that song, among others. My name is Richard Henry Lee, Vir-gin-i-a is my home... hey, off topic, the first time I was ever 'published' was a poem about John Adams. ^_^

Seven Samurai - Oh my goodness, I have never cried harder, and I'm not much of a movie crier. The scene where they are picking up the individual grains of rice off of the ground, it just struck me at that point with this feeling of 'I want to be able to tell stories the way that Kurosawa can tell a story'. It was so powerful, I had to watch it in small chunks to be able to digest everything emotionally and symbolically. I don't want to give too much away for anyone who hasn't seen it, but there's a part, and I don't have the names down yet, but there's a part where they quiet one goes out and I think he goes and gets them a gun or a horse, there's a lot of pirating going on, anyhow, the youngest of the group is just in awe of this guy the whole time and he runs over to him and pauses and then just says 'You are great' and then runs off.. and it just seems like such a simple thing, but the way it is in the movie, there's something so powerful about it, and so meaningful, and... yeah, go watch it if you haven't.

5) Which five people are you passing the baton onto? and why?

Everybody! But especially...

Siesta! because I'm very interested always with what's going on 'round her part of the world

Mei! because, because, becase, becase, because of the wonderful films that...she... erm... yeah, that didn't work.. so... We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of oz!

Laura! because she has cast a number of my FHH family with Mexican actors, and I'm thinking she might have move recs with these people *-pokey poke poke-*

Cheezey! because *-grabs Alluro's psy-club-* You don't stand a chance against my memes... you WILL tell me your favorite movies... yes? no? yes? maybe? *-tosses club back to Alluro and it bounces off his foot-*

Anyone wearing underwear while reading this! even if the underwear is on your head or caught around your ankles, you are required to answer this! hee hee
