Sometimes, you don't get the chance to procrastinate

Such as, right now. As of sometime this morning, all three of the archives stopped working between dreamelf and queencheetah. I puttered around, I hoped it would resolve itself, but so far, nothing. Still going to hope it just rights itself out on its own, but in the meantime, I went to the efiction site to see how the version being worked on about two years back was coming.

Thankfully, it seems fairly debugged and very usable and all pretty with extra shiny things.

The downside is, moving all of the files over to said new site. Blah.

I'm experimenting at the moment with it... used what will eventually be the 'new' Sunshine and Shadow as a guniea pig...

On the up side, Jules had asked if I could come up with a skin for her to use... so since I'll be getting into the php again, I think it'll happen sooner than she was expecting.

in other news, the kitchen and living room are mostly clean, and yesterday poor Hephaestian passed on to fishy heaven... I keep saying we're not going to use names for fish that could be prophetic (like Arwen, Elladan and Elrohir, the ill-fated angelfish), but I never listen to myself...

...I hit 'compose mail' on the other window and sat here baffled on how and why i wasn't getting the lj update screen...

I'm going on an hour of sleep. After dealing with bad Italian hackers (still dealing with them a little) and trying to fix archives (booo, Italian hackers, you have achived what the Turkish hackers last year could not, booo, I say!) and loading and checking the new version of efiction (more filling, less chance of hacks), I crawled into bed at 4:20am only to have to be up soon after because Mark had to be at work at 6:00am. Which means, I had to be up, dressed, have his lunch packed, and drive him over before 6am. Boo to that as well.

From Pounce! have 330 chapters or stand alone stories downloaded. I am not even halfway done. I can't seem to do upgrades on the old versions of the archives, since there is not sitekey because I was using version 1.1 and they're up to 3.3 now, and it's being bad on that. Crappers.

DreamElf and Sunshine and Shadow will be practically impossible to transfer. I don't want to be all 'guess what, we're starting from scratch!' but I have this terrible feeling that is what will happen...

I should explain... the files are saved without title information, just in author folders, but they are just given numbers for the save files. So playing the match game is interesting.

For me it will be really interesting. I can't get into the sites, the logins are blocked somehow. And I can't see the lists of things. And there are many, many stories I wrote outside of the PPB-AU that I can't recall the titles of.

Luckily, Monty has for me her old Slytherin Quidditch Seeker costume.

She's going as a death eater.

She realized on the phone, we've switched roles from the last book, when I was Bellatrix LeStrange and she was playing the quidditch beater role.
