Woke up this morning, and after lounging in bed almost two hours due to feeling like shit from a cold my boss gave me (funny, I can work through a flu, but colds knock me on my ass), I cancelled the meetup for our area's nano group and then went in the war wagon out to pick up a tree with Mark. We decided on a real one this year, since it's probably our last year at this place. This year we got one that isn't gigantic, it's just about 6 feet (two years back, we got a great deal on this huge ass tree, that was so big that even after sawing off the end, still bent over the ceiling meaning the angel looked like she was skydiving)
We also picked up new lights that are eight or nine different colors, and once they were on lined up on one side so that it looks like a rainbow. I expect the good natured gay tree jokes to commence within a week. The cats, of course, love their new toy and think it's just dandy. Oreo sat on the arm of the couch winking at Mark as we were putting it up, and when he asked why she was doing that, I informed him it was her way of saying 'soon as you leave, I'm climbing my new toy'.
Then, we were going to go and take the new laptop to get all secured and stuff, however, the snow started. I don't recall it ever getting this bad in such a short time before. It took me almost ten minutes just going around the block, at which point I called off the journey and we went to breakfast, though, it was already noon.
He wanted to sit in somewhere, so, we went to the family restaurant down the street, where I went through half a pack of kleenex and felt generally miserable the entire time. Then there were two other errands to run in the area, and finally, home. I took the medicine procured during errand #2, and was asleep 15minutes later. That was at 2pm; it's now past 10 from what I can tell. I will easily be back in bed before midnight.
I want to go make some soup, but Harley's all snuggled up against me (he just shifted to wrap himself more around me. I swear this cat can read).
I considered posting pics of said snow, but Darkdreamer has taken care of that, lol, so just go to her journal, look at her pictures, and for the view you'd have from my place, pretend there's a big pine tree and a picnic table instead of what's in her pictures, lol.
Ah, kitty #2 has joined in the snuggling. And is now giving kitty #1 a bath, while both of them sit in my lap. To Stargirl: This is why my keyboard is covered in cat hair.
I was so going to write this weekend. I don't think I could come up with a coherent sentence if I wanted to (well, that's cause I used them up for LB... oh, yeah, I could post that here...)
( entry for today's Little Balrog day )
Time for soup, OJ, and bed...
