Last night at the second council meeting (an unprecedented double council meeting day, plus I lectured in the morning.. Erestor'd be proud, lol), the council disbanded the committee to create a joint library. The city decided to go it alone, doesn't want our land, and doesn't want to shack up with... I mean, combine with us.

That's okay. I was much expecting that. When the only question they asked me the entire meeting was 'what's the current square footage', I realized they really weren't interested. Besides, the city library is moving on to round to, to plan a new library, which they desperately need.

Then the council decided to swipe our learning center plan and attach it into their plans. Oh, my boss is SO not going to be in a happy place this morning... and neither is the person whose plan that was. So I need to bring them some chocolate or something when I go tell them the outcome today.

Anyhow, I'm taking this much better than I expected... I suppose coming off of losing a staff member who has only been here about three months, having slim prospects for someone else, the 911 call, (btw, the student came back the next day to let us know he's ok now and thank us for calling for him and taking care of things until they got there).

Now... I may have been dreaming last night when I saw Hillary win Texas, so I'm going to interupt my heavenly morning silence with the 7am news. I know she won Ohio; I shouted like I was at a football game and the touchdown came a second before the game ended. My neighbors much think I'm a hoot. However, the coke&rum I had last night dulled everything after Ohio.

Where's Felagund hiding... I have plotting to do... if I'm not getting a new library, I'm going to have to start taking over the land surrounding the library...

I'm on lunch break. Why? I'm unexpectedly working a split shift. Why? All of my evening people are sick.

Normally, I don't mind splits, but Wednesdays I have office hours from 2-3, and my day people all leave by 4, so taking my break pre-four, not happening. I would have had about two hours break initially between am and pm, but as I was leaving I had to contend with an 'issue'.

Basically, someone called this morning and asked us to hold something. We pulled it, told them to come in. When they tried to check it out, it so happened that someone was requesting it as an interlibrary loan, so the clerks told the person they couldn't have it. Apparently, they were not happy, and instead of walking across the room to get me, the staff basically told this person she couldn't have the item. So, I had to go on a scavenger hunt to find out who this person was (which included hunting down a student worker on her lunch break, as she has a class with this person whose name no one knew) and then call the person, apologize for the staff, and offer to hold the item until she returns. Oi.

I think lunch is almost done... have to eat and then run back down there... and I'm already tired! At least Dad pulled me out of the library to take a break around 10... that was helpful for my sanity and caffeine level.

...I was sitting on the floor of my gramma & grampa's house RIGHT in front of the TV screen watching, I think, Romper Room, while my dad told me to be good, rushed back out, and promised to bring back my new brother or sister (old school, when you didn't find out if the room was going to be painted blue or pink until the stork hit ya).

Even though he prolly won't see this...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (not so) L'IL BROTHER! WHOOHOO! TJ's 27!

This is his first b-day in a few years that he's been home and not off playing war. ^_^ Much happiness about that.
