apparently, I really pissed off the little rat

so, here's the reply I was about to make to her last reply... y'know, i really did not expect her to get so upset over something that was just an informational explanation... since I know some of you talk to her more than, well, obviously I can't talk to her at all at the moment since she blocked me off her journal... but, here's the reply, for a) anyone who was reading the stuff and b) for anyone to direct her to, if she cools off, because obviously I unintentionally got her upset.

Which is too bad, as I always enjoyed her posts, prayed for her, her friends, and the animals that showed up whenever she'd make posts about those sorts of things. It's funny how upset people get over things online... especially in a case where, to be honest, I don't think she had a personal connection to anyone in her post (I could be wrong on that -- did she know the deceased? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I'm seriously not sure, because it obviously pissed her off when I posted the research I had found). It happens I really, truly do know Gaylord Nelson's granddaughter, so that part of the article did rub me the wrong way. I don't think it's right for someone to take credit for someone else's work, and that's exactly what it appears has been happening in regards to Earth Day.

Or does Magic Rat just really take a lot of things personally? Again, not trying to be sarcastic -- I really don't know! I just used to read her lotr stuff, happen to own a fuzzy blue cloak that Jake made for me (this Christmas in fact) because of it, and have kept up with her journal even though I'm not particularly interested in her current writings. (I suppose that's a good thing, eh?)

Well, I don't have time to dwell on it anymore. Classes to teach, conference to attend to (or what's left of it), library to manage, meetings to plan for, people to advise. The inner- Erestor is working overtime.

By the way? Though time consuming, and not without stress, I totally have the best job(s) ever. I think I need one of those desk name thingie things that says 'chief counselor' on it. The laminated sign is nice, but, you know what they say about desk name thingies.

They're easier to throw at naughty balrog slayers who disrupt you in the middle of important stuffs ;-)

So, while I'm sorry she got upset and felt the need to go blocking me because she didn't want to discuss it, I'm not sorry that I'm a librarian. I'm not sorry that I feel a need to find the truth. I'm not sorry that I boo google and praise databases. I'd rather be disappointed by the truth than blissfully believing a lie. If that means I don't get to be a person everyone likes, so be it. I'm in good company with Giles, Batgirl, and the uniquely popular fanfictional Erestor. Speaking of... I have some neglected muses to play with...
