Fill this out about your SENIOR year of high school! The longer ago it was, the more fun the answers will be. Change the subject to the year you graduated.

This should be good...

1. Who was your best friend?

I didn't really have a best friend... guess maybe I'd go with Nikki, she was a coworker, quite a few years older and a college girl. If not her, I'd have to say the family dog, Bosley.

2.What sports did u play?

None, but I enjoyed archery and bowling, the only sports I could kick ass on. Give me a target, I'll hit it, make me move, I'll fall on my ass.

3. What kind of car did you drive?

I didn't. I didn't learn to drive until I was 21. I walked everywhere (and gah, I was quite a lot thinner back then, le sigh)

4. It's Friday night, where were you?

Working. I worked at the best place in town to work... the only place that wasn't a fast food joint or a big grocery or department store. I worked the hobby shop, and damn, everyone was jealous.

5. Were you a party animal?

Nope

6. Were you considered a flirt?

Nope, but I was a bit of a perv even then.. ok, quite the perv

7. Ever skip school?

Not really; I had passes from both the Newspaper and the Music Department that were like 'get out of jail free' cards, as well as teachers who would tell us to take 'double lunches' (we had an open lunch policy). I didn't skip; I took field trips (quite literally, always had a purpose for where I was going to).

8. Were you a nerd?

yes

9. Were you in any clubs?

yes

11. Can you sing the fight song?

C-U, D-A, H-Y spells Cud-a-hy; Pur-ple, and Gold, and the rest escapes me... but it wasn't very creative

12. Who was your favorite teacher?

Hmm... Herr LaFleur, he was a trip, and the Hansons (husband and wife who taught all the higher english courses), and Tresp (El Trespo!) the Orchestra conductor and maybe 'Dad' (the Principal, he was a cool guy, most of us called him dad)

And McCurdy, who sadly, passed away not too long after that... he was Econ/history, poor guy was constantly teased by students because he was a bit on the effeminate side, but he was a sweet guy, and it's too bad, turns out he had a wife and a couple kids, and that shut up the gossiping about him.

13. Favorite class?

Creative writing, where I was providing on a daily basis the ever expanding chronicles of Rocky and Bullwinkle - complete with voices

14. What was your school's full name?

like I care, by now most of you can track me down... Cudahy High

oh, so creative...

15. School mascot?

Thunder -- A purple cow!!

(and my junior year, I was runner-up to being able to be Thunder... heh heh...)

16. Did you go to dances?

I planned the dances... but, yeah, I went to homecoming that year, but not prom (though, i helped plan both prom and post-prom, as well as fundraising for it... but, I always went solo)

17. If you could go back and do it over, would you?

Maybe select parts... not the math classes...

18. What do you remember most about graduation?

The agreement with 'Dad' (principal). After he dealt with two straight years of extreme pranks, he knew that our class could be hell. So, he made a deal with us at the end of our junior year. If we were good all year, we got a big party the afternoon before graduation. As a token of goodwill, he pulled strings so that we had most of the first day of classes off for our senior year, and had a barbeque in the student parking lot during that time instead.

We were good. Not even a senior skip day.

That, and the night of graduation, I wore camo shorts and a tank top under my cap and gown gear. Don't know if I ever mentioned it, but at one point, I was supposed to go join the Marines after HS.

19. Favorite memory of your Senior Year?

The Infrared (The school newspaper was called the Ultraviolet, and when I joined, I wrote this whole really great article about the band winning three straight years for the state championship or something, and the editor told me flat out no one wanted to read about the band. I was then placed on horoscope duty. So, I started my own newspaper, which was like the Onion for just our city... I'm surprised it didn't come back to haunt me when I started to run for office)

21. Did you have a job your senior year?

Hobby Shop, I was a magazine clerk

22. Where did you go most often for lunch?

The park, or else the 'bass lounge', which was the lead male actor's dressing/makeup room during plays, or else the room for the bass players to stow their instruments and stuff the rest of the time.

24. What did you do after graduation?

I don't remember, I suppose we went home, I would guess there was cake involved.

25.Long term:

Went to college, got a BS in what would basically be considered a computer science, (BS-Information Resources), got married, became a substitute teacher (at the places I came from, and interesting enough, I taught some of the students who were freshmen the year I was a senior when they were seniors), got my Masters in Library Science, played at a public library, now heading a tech college library

26. Where are most of your classmates?

No clue; suppose I'll find out at the 10year reunion next year

27. Are you going/did you go to your 10-year reunion?

Yes, I'm curious to see the train wrecks that once were the star students... you know there are a few...

28. Who was your worst teacher?

Drunken Derby... wait, no, he was amusing at least. And he made some good points.

Mr. Hitt. Boy, was he ever an asshole.

29. Did your life turn out different then you would have expected?

I was supposed to go do my music thing... join the Marines, have them pay for college.

Plan number two, when I didn't make it through the medical stuff, was to get a polysci undergrad and then go to law school.

Law school was in the eventual plans for each.

Yes, folks. I was originally supposed to be a lawyer.

Scary, no?

Never expected the getting married part, either. Considering I asked at least seventeen guys out back in high school, and was turned down every time, I never expected the guy at work (Mark) to say yes...

30. What were the popular movies that year?

Boy... I have no clue... I do remember that they were rereleasing Star Wars around that time, though...
