January -- Then onto the floor they tumbled, a wild tangle of arms and legs, golden hair flowing into ebon; they spent only a moment to be sure they were both alright before once again kissing each other into a frenzy and pressing their bared skin together, as if they hoped they could become one not just in spirit but in flesh as well, until finally Glorfindel chuckled and said, "Erestor, dear, that will do."

My favorite story this year (of my own):

I had hoped to finish Unforgettable so I could list that one here. I guess it’s a tie, between Just Lookin’ and the Baby Blue Plot Bunnies (Fluff’n’Stuff). Since the second is more a series, I’ll go with Just Lookin’.

My best story this year:

Fluff’n’Stuff. I think of all of them, I’d go with Nightmare or Candles… Candles has one of my favorite bits I have ever, ever written in it:

Looking up at the high walls, Glorfindel took in the scenes depicted in the tall, stained-glass windows of the evils of Morgoth. To one side at the front of the room was a large, blue marble statue of Manwe; the opposite side of the room was Varda. The Valier, in statue form, lined one wall from front to back, while their male counterparts were hewn in stone on the other side. Standing up, Glorfindel walked to the statue of Elbereth and looked over the rows and rows of candles, some lit and some burned out, while others awaited someone to strike flint to steel or light them from one of the others already burning.

Erestor approached quietly and stood beside Glorfindel. “There was once a more symbolic reason for the lighting of these,” explained the dark elf, picking up one of the flickering candles. “If someone was dying, or perhaps if someone needed guidance, one might be lit. If there was an elleth having an uneasy labor, her husband might come and light an entire row. But now, they are burning not only for these reasons. If someone wants a raise, if someone wishes their champion to win a joust, if someone wants to be granted leave for a vacation. I hear of these things all the time.” Erestor tilted the candle, sparking the wick of an unlit one at the very corner of the table. He placed the candle he had picked up back in its spot and then dug his hand into his pocket and pulled out a coin purse. “It used to be a spiritual thing; now, you make a donation when you light them.” A piece of silver glinted in his fingers just as he dropped it into a little metal box that hanged off of the table.

Glorfindel stared at the newly lit flame until he heard Erestor begin to retreat from the place of worship. With his palms upon the edge of the table, Glorfindel listened to the steps become fainter and fainter. Finally he called out, his voice echoing in the empty hall. “Who did you light that one for?”

The loud steps on the hard, marble walkway paused. “That one,” said Erestor before leaving, “is for you.”

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

Touch of His Hand; but it’s not ‘major’ characters, so I never expected it to be all that popular anyhow

Most fun story:

Did You Just Grab My Ass? & We’re Having a Heatwave

Sexiest story:

Take Me; I’m Yours. Considering I have to go with a finished fic. Must, must finish Unforgettable next year… heh


Story with single sexiest moment:

Accidental seduction – the banana eating scene.


Hardest story to write:

Don’t Say Your Love is Killing Me – because I knew that despite how bad Salgant or Turgon or Thingol appear, I always new the biggest ‘villain’ is Gildor in these stories, but at the same time, I really do like Gildor, so making him this way was a big difficult, and you get to a point where you get so attached to your characters despite them being fictional it is emotional to pull stories like this from them. I think that Body Language would have been more difficult had this not been finished first.


Most unintentionally *telling* story:

Fluff’n’Stuff… by the time I was 3/4 done, I started having second thoughts about putting forth my religious views... but I’m glad I did it.

Each drabble/ficlet/art challenge can be turned into a super challenge by consulting the columns of insanity. You can even completely disregard the challenges and just submit whatever elf smuttiness you like, as long as it hasn't been written previously for something else. The only rules are to have fun, and be dirty [Only ratings of R or NC- 17/ Adult oriented fics are allowed] This event is being held in the gutter that is Little Balrog.
