Just Stuff

First, someone pointed out a flaw to me the other day in my grand plan.
If I'm not writing anything new this month, does that mean I'm not doing the annual egg hunt on my site?
Erm... that's... a good point...
So, after thinking for a bit on this, and considering, lent is really more about giving up something that is difficult to give up instead of a way to trick oneself into finishing already started stories,I've 'revamped' the plan, and am now giving up buying books for myself instead.
And after spending three hours today in a bookstore for NanoEdmo, it's much harder than one would think, especially for me. And no, for the previous days of lent, I'd not purchased any books, as I was anticipating today. So.. um... heh... pray I can actually manage this? lol
Tiny little chocolate chip cookies are awesome.
Filled gourmet pretzels are delicious as well.
So, today, at the bookstore, it was slightly odd. Had an awesome time with Book_Maven, but the odd part was when we came in and sat down, I went right up to the counter to get the biggest size soda they had. Wait, the odd part is coming up, I promise. So, I'm standing there, and catch a glimpse of one of the people behind the counter, and I'm thinking, gosh, I think I went to school with her, but, no, she can't be, she went away to college to become and actress and a singer and stuff.
But when she finally came back over... sure enough, it was her. I kind of hung out with her a little, via mutual friends and such. Senior year, things were tense, she pissed me off, I went off on her (those who know me know that's a bit of a rare thing... think, when Erestor goes after Salgant in Unforgettable... yes, yes, I did draw that from real life, heh heh), she screwed me over, so I laid low, then I REALLY screwed her over. *ahem* I was developing the librarian wrath early...
So, it was a little strange. Strange talking to her, strange seeing her making coffee drinks, strange having her bring the food over, ask if we needed anything else, and tell us to enjoy and all. Just... just strange.
And when she asked me what was new with me and stuff, I was so lowkey about it. Yeah, I do library stuff. Yeah. I'm here with a writing group (although it turned up being just Book_Maven and me). Nothing about 'dude, I totally run a library with a whole staff of people and a quarter mil operating budget' or 'yeah, i'm halfway done with my novel, so now I'm sort of editing it and filling stuff in' or anything like that, which I usually toss at people I run into like that.
Weird, weird, weird...
I like grapes.
Oreo keeps stealing my water glass. Silly kitty.
So... now that I can start new stories again...
