(no subject)

According to the young ones sitting beneath the window:

#1: See, when Harry, after the book seven, he finds out he has a sister and then he, then, you know the evil blond one?

#2: Malfoy?

#1: Yeah, little Malfoy, he falls in love with Harry’s sister, and they marry, and now they are – RELATIVES! Brothers! ..in law!

#3: Really?

* Laughter *

#1: Yeah.

#2: * still laughing * No.

#3: But does he have a sister?

#1: No. Maybe.

#3: Then what’s her name?

#1: Ashley.

So, you heard it here first. Harry’s little sister Ashley.

I’m trying to figure out if this is a) a fanfic #1 read or b) #1’s idea of a fanfic.

By the way, these are three 8/9 year old boys sitting under my window discussing such things. Among them, that Potterpals rule, and that Snape should still be alive.

Obviously, they must not have known anyone was listening.. they kept talking about 'things they've seen online', and all I can say is, more parents need to watch what their children are doing on the internet

"more parents need to watch what their children are doing on the internet" isn't that the bottom line to all of this? If a person decides to have children, then they need to take that responsibility seriously.

Seems instead of trying to remove every bit of offensive content from the net (an impossible task as US laws do not hold water in other countries), we ought to make parents restrict their kid's access (like I do and always will do -- no PCs in their bedrooms, they must surf "in public", so to speak). Seems like nothing worse than a "carseat law" for the Internet.

Ah, but I'm naive, I believe that parents should decide what is appropriate for their own children and keep their noses out of others' lives. And, if you have children, you are entirely responsible for them until they turn 21!

*LOL* Some parents should really keep a better watch over their children while they are surfing the www. But I find their discussion quite inspiring... Would also be a nice elfen-fic *grins*
