1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
A: Went to my high school reunion.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
A: I don't have time for New Year's resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
A: Not really close at all, but a coworker did.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
A: Again, not really, but some coworkers.
5. What countries did you visit?
A: Just this one. Not sure they'd let me elsewhere... wait, does Gondolin count? I spent a fair amoutn of time there.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
A: A novel actually published. Working on that.
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
A: April 1st. That was the day my brother got back from the war. He was discharged the next day, having completed his time (8 years) with the army.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
A: I think that being able to get the students I was teaching to go from being barely able to write complete sentences to writing an entire term paper was pretty big. That's about fifteen more people in the world who now have business communication skills, which might not seem so important, but once they get out in the world, will be.
9. What was your biggest failure?
A: Dragon*Con.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
A: Was sick a couple times, and broke my toe just before the convention, meaning I was hobbling my ass around half the time. Not so much happiness.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A: Books
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
A: Jacob's.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
A: Some kids who tore down the snowman of the three year old who lives in our apartment because they wanted to make a snow fort. It was the little guy's first snow man and all, and it was made right outside his window, so I thought that was really crappy of those kids.
14. Where did most of your money go?
A: ...stuff. Bills, loans, etc.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
A: My brother coming home.
16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
A: Erasure's Sunday Girl
17. What was your favorite film of this year?
A: 300
18. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A: If I would have followed my gut, not done the con stuff, and concentrated on getting my novel published.
19. What kept you sane?
A: The elves... which, oddly enough, are usually the source of the insanity as well. And Mark. And Jacob.
20. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
You'd better be careful or you might just get what you were looking for
Now I'm in chains, not exactly what I'm looking for
First Line from 2007 -- Post the first thing written in your journal for each month of the previous year (no cheating!)
Now, before we begin, I usually remember that this is coming, and write some spectacular little starter for January, alas, I forgot this year (though remembered for 2007), and I'll just have to hope that come February I remember and redeem myself then.

The taste of champagne was still on his lips as he awoke, feeling the familiar comfort of someone nuzzling against his body until he realized quite suddenly that those were not his lover’s arms around him and that was not his lover’s leg over his thigh, for his lover was watching him lazily, snuggled up to someone else entirely and yet wearing a smirk, so as to say, ‘This is a fine mess indeed that we have gotten ourselves into this time!’
Alright. I have, once again, set myself up nicely for the end-of-the-year review next year.

Last week we sent out the first newsletter to the staff.
With Malinorne's aid, it was named Parmasambe

First, someone pointed out a flaw to me the other day in my grand plan.
If I'm not writing anything new this month, does that mean I'm not doing the annual egg hunt on my site?
Erm... that's... a good point...

I am slowly coming to the conclusion that some of you don't follow directions.
Once more from the top... with clues this time...
Name three fics you think I will never, ever, ever write. In return, I will attempt to write a snippet of one of them.

i've sent out good vibes and healing vibes and all sorts of vibes in the past, but, i just had a thought, after reading all the entries from the other jij participants lately...
*sends speedy writer vibes to those stuck on jij*
Jul
Well, first off, a happy day to everyone!
Secondly, a very very happy IDOS to those slashers of the world.
Aug
We were just informed that Sean Astin will not be attending Dragon*Con this year.
Sep
I'll be writing something very much elogated when I return to Wisconsin.
But a few tidbits.
When we checked in, we found out that the room we were given was the room exactly opposite of Dark and her Snooky.
Of all the rooms in all the hotels in all of Atlanta and all the thousands and thousands, WHAT are the CHANCES?!
Oct
A bit of an extention, since my computer's hard drive died two weeks ago and I just got it back last night... October 2nd is the new cutoff (as in, when the date changes from the 2nd to the 3rd Central US Time), so please feel free to sign up if you've not yet done so.

Character Meme....
Name any story I've written, and any character in it, canon or OC. I'll tell you three things about that character which I didn't put in the story.

Woke up this morning, and after lounging in bed almost two hours due to feeling like shit from a cold my boss gave me (funny, I can work through a flu, but colds knock me on my ass), I cancelled the meetup for our area's nano group and then went in the war wagon out to pick up a tree with Mark. We decided on a real one this year, since it's probably our last year at this place. This year we got one that isn't gigantic, it's just about 6 feet (two years back, we got a great deal on this huge ass tree, that was so big that even after sawing off the end, still bent over the ceiling meaning the angel looked like she was skydiving)
and that's the year in review... still have to do the fanfic review for the year, however, I know that since the October computer crash, I don't have everything, so perhaps I'll skip that for this year.
