The sort of sick you don't wish on your worst enemy

As I write this, I've banished myself to the pull out bed in the living room, hacking my way through this entry. Sunday I woke up with a small cough and a sore throat; now I have some sort of respiratory infection making my chest feel like it's on fire every time I cough.

I had to go in today; I had to teach and my annual budget was due. I'm hoping whatever I turned in was semi-coherent. I do recall telling my boss at some point, 'see? lots of pretty colored graphs and charts, very eye-catching' or something to that effect. Then I dreamed my way through the budget review after I got home -- which means I must be really sick to torture myself with that in slumberland.

The cats are enjoying the hideabed being out to no end, with the spectacular system of instant caves below it.

Oh, and it's snowing again. I suppose that's just a given these days when I post...

Mark is making me a big ol' bowl of soup, which... ah, yes, ready now.

Aw, man! I hate to be sick, too. Sounds like bronchitis, Zhie. You need antibiodics. Did you call the doc?

In the meantime, maybe you would benefit from Mucinex DM. And Advil. And cheesecake.

Haven't called the doc yet, mostly because, with the way the snow is I don't trust myself to drive out there in this condition.

I just took the mucinex a little while ago... I knew if I took it at 4am I wasn't going to get back to sleep again, so i figure the next twelve hours i'll try to cough this crap out and then hit the nyquil again tonight. It seems as if the coughing isn't quite so bad this morning, and I'm not as fatigued as I was. Luckily, when I get sick, it'll either hit me like a semi and then go away, or linger annoyingly for a couple weeks... I'm thinking this is the first kind, thankfully. I've also been taking airborne every time i wake up.

As for the cheesecake... oh, I wish I could, but I know it'll just make it worse :(
