Been a busy few weeks, and it's not going to slow down any time soon. I have prompts to finish for the writer's meeting on the 30th, the last meeting of the Erudite Exchange as the group we started as until...? With one person heading to Boston, and another to Illinois, it's kinda like the breaking of the fellowship...

So, I recalled a meme that was wandering around about a week ago, and I'm finally getting to it.

Rules: When you see this meme immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun.

1. Go to your desktop and press the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key).
2. Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and doing a Paste (CTRL + V).
3. Post the picture on your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop if you want. You can explain why you prefer such a look or why it is full of icons. Things like that.

Since Annie came over yesterday (and she brought piiiiiiiie) and hung for a little while with MJ (who spent the last few days by us) and I playing with photoshop, I used the time before I crashed (before we went to see Incredible Hulk... which, funny, it was a great movie, and I felt almost like this was the 'oops, our bad, we REALLY f-ed up that first try... check this one out' version)... anyhow, I made a new desktop collage, which I rarely do. This is using a lot of images by Jenny Dolfen, who is AWESOME, and someday, when I get published, seriously, it would be so awesome to get her to do cover art. I'm just sayin'. Her site is here - http://www.goldseven.de/ - for those interested.

Larger Version + explanation under cut, but here's a more friendly version...

I've been in a Feanorian mood lately. The brothers are very intriguing, so I thought it would be good to have this. I had been using the image Dolfen did of the six brothers who remained after the ship burning, but I like both of the twins, and the picture of Maedhros is SO well done.

As for my icons, I like things to be simple. It's a cluttered desk with too many icons, so I only have the things I would use most often or need to have there. Explorer and Word are the two that come up the most, and my messengers load automatically when I login.

My folder is where all the currently in-progress stories are -- Unforgettable stuff is there, from chapter 20 of Book 2 to the current one I am working on; the next chapter of the Pink Plot Bunnies; a story called 'Golden' (working title) which is a plot bunny I adopted from Library of Moria having to do with Glorfindel being magically turned into a golden retriever; a random part of Insatiable about Glorfindel's fear of bondage games; and the script for the Aredhel fan film.

However, I like BIG icons. I don't like to click on something and be that I was too close to something else and now all sorts of weird stuff is opening up. So there it is. My fairly clean desktop. 'Cept for the blood on Maedhros' sword from stabbing the recycle bin to death.

Ah, I've been wanting to do a sort of collage for my desktop using pretty arts, too. It looks nice. :3

And I'm jealous of how nice and neat and icon-less it is. I hate a cluttered desktop (funny that my room is an avalanche of clutter, I know), but I have too many icons I (think I) actually use. Envyenvyenvy.

I spied, with my little eye, my name minimized on the taskbar. <3 D'aw I feel special. I'm in a screen capture. :D
