Actually, they removed even more of the ceiling today. I thought the point was to put up a ceiling, not take more down.

Apparently, all the HVAC vents were vents to nowhere all this time, and the only ones that actually ever worked were the ones at the door. Number of working vents: one. Number of crappy unworking vents filled with crap, most of which came down on my desk: five, that I know of.

Of course, with the vents gone, they could hypothetically raise the ceiling about two extra feet. Will they? Obviously not, that's the logical thing to do in my cave-like surroundings.

And, yesterday, found out the plans were measured wrong for the room. How wrong? Enough for mild mannered construction workers to swear like sailors. Which is okay, 'cause we're a pirate ship.

The grid is up in the hallway, though, so I'm hopeful they might get into the library tomorrow or Thursday. We had to cancel our open house for the 4th, but I'm really not too upset about it. I'm just quietly saying nothing and hoping I don't have to put up signs that say 'Open House Cancelled due to possibility of light of doom falling and killing patrons'.

Everywhere I step, things go crunch right now. This is not ideal in a place I typically ditch my shoes when the doors close for the day.

Started teaching my course today, too, and I have a great class including someone with an Elven name (!) and that's all I can say on that due to confidentiality and all that stuff. But I really have to stop them sometime and bring up the topic, because I'm quite intrigued. Only one no-show, and they repainted the classroom and put in a new AV system -- yay! No more pushing the cart around from place to place.

Tomorrow night I'll be there for the first night of evening classes. I have a lecture right off at 5pm that I sadly haven't had the chance to prepare for. Lucky for me, I can practically pull a lecture out of my...

It's a health/nursing class, which I haven't done in years, so hopefully I don't botch it. Oh, the tables and the rest of the furniture: Approved! They've already started to work on them! Eight weeks anticipated to be done, so delivery at the end of October some time. Doh, that means I have to move the open house later than October... blarg. At least the ceiling will be done by the time furniture arrives.

Sleeping kitty at my feet says it's bedtime if I'm going to attempt to work a split shift tomorrow (somehow, even with everything going on today, I managed to catalog over fifty books... at least the books are cooperating with me).

I thought the cave look was the new in thing though? Aren't all of them book keeping places supposed to look like something is about to slither out from one of your dark corners in there...? Sorry I just think that the library would be one of the most perfect places for a horror movie... that and that other building that's so far removed (I haven't been there in so long to walk around I can't even remember what building that is now :(

Good luck on your class, and pulling the lecture out of uh... *smirks*

I'll see you tonight about 5ish? I was going to stop in before going to class to drop off those 20 books, and maybe pick up a few. Do you have everything done for what you're going to wear for Saturday? Because if not tomorrow is the day to get things done. I was able to finish up everything I needed last night so if you need any help with anything, or if you know if anyone else needs anything just let me know, I have some extra stuff sitting around that could be used to put something together really fast.

Uhmmm... there was something else I was going to tell you but I can't remember... Oh yeah, you're still my favorite *hugs* Love you.
