I need an icon for my system...

...perhaps I'll do that while I watch TMZ.

I have reached the bottom of the bookshelf that was behind the desk -- no easy feat.

On the bottom, behold! All of my ThunderCats fanfictioness, plus the meager collection of US comics, UK annuals, children's books, catalogs, newer comics, etc.

And also instructions for putting a balrog's wings on, and my genealogy certificate. Good to know.

What baffles and worries, though, is that my UK comics aren't there. Which is going to create a 'great search for UK TC comics' eventually, but for now, I'm just going to tell myself they're in the closet so I don't worry about it.

Went to the mall today. Was open... but... dead. If anyone needed proof of recession (hell, depression, seriously, people), they could have looked at the fact I parked two spots in from the door. Or, that I could have rolled marbles down the corridors and they'd not have hit anyone.

It did mean some great sales going on, and I had gift cards to use. I'm trying to use them all because this great Chinese restaurant we like closed down two weeks ago, all the sudden, and we had $50 of gift certificates still sitting there >.<

So, I now have two new pairs of shoes (size 12 wide... yay... though I can squeeze into an 11, it makes them stretch eventually, so 12 is much preferred, but it seems most women's 12 wides look like something a drag queen would wear, so it's hard to find stuff). Went to Kohls, and found a purse that matched the shoes (was not going to get it, as price tag was $50 and... yeesh, $50 for a handbag? c'mon! that's crazy!) except Mark was there, and pointed out it was on sale and with the gift card would be hardly anything, so, i haz new fringy golden (mustard golden, not shiny gold, that WOULD be drag queen gear) handbag. Also, bought socks, wonderful socks for people with big feet. Mark bought two shirts at the same place where the socks were, and pre-sales and pre-gift card, items totaled over $100... after sales and gift card, $12.

(One of the shirts is the same color as one I had Glorfindel wear in a fic once... not pink... but another slightly-unusual color, but will probably not tell him this because then he will probably get weird about wearing it.)

Walked past Lane Bryant three times. Have gift card for them. Clothing ugly. At least, not my style. Why is orange in right now? wtf, yo. Must get to a fashion bug, as gift card can be used there, too.

Giggled at Old Navy manikins. maniquins? meh.

Was not jumped in front of by any telephone people. Yay for that.

Went to Borders. Their sale had ended or I probably would have purchased more stuff. Second time in two days that I was questioned for not bringing piles of books to the register. Sometimes, and I know this is CRAZY talk, but sometimes, librarians actually buy books for THEMSELVES. Batshitcrazy, I know, but it happens.

Left with a book about the pirate code. People at work should fear me for at least the next 72 hours. Paid only a dollar for it, as I had Borders Bucks to use.

From all those piles of books normally purchased...

And Culvers for lunch, and now packing again. Yes, that's right, we covered that already. I ran into a stack of medical cards. First one on the top: urinary system. Will probably find a different home for these, just can't see me needing these anymore. They were, at one time, for 'Dr. Zhie' (the story character, not me) when writing fanfic, but it might be time to let go...

...maybe I'll just keep set 10 (reproductive system). For, umm... posterity or something.

Okay, back to work...

See: Love the icon. I was a fan of the Thundercats when I was a kid.
