It feels like years since I've done a meme... in online time, that means probably two, maybe three months. It's time. And, I can't sleep and need something mindless, plus, I don't have any energy left on Mafia Wars.

FANFIC MEME - Answer the questions about your own fanfic - if you're a fanfic writer and you're reading this, you've been tagged!

WARNING: There will be spoilers ahead!

1. Which is your favorite fic?

In the ThunderCats fandom, probably a tie between Intermission and Minuet. Neither of which was ever finished. For Tolkien... oh, boy, how do you pick your favorite of your five hundred children? LOL... eeny meeny miny... Silver and Gold, or, Fluff'n'Stuff.

2. Which is your best-received fic?

Unforgettable, I think, has now surpassed The Purple Plot Bunnies, but it was the purple bunnies that brought me from itty bitty unnoticed tetra in big sea to silly trout in small lake. I like to think now that I'm a narwhal, only because that's my favorite sea creature. Except, I think only the males have the horns, so maybe I'd rather be a dolphin.

Oh, wait, this isn't the sea creature meme. My bad. Unforgettable has absolutely received the most hits and the most private feedback and so on. I probably should have read part of that during DC 2007, come to think of it, instead of the Fluff'n'Stuff piece.

3. Which is your worst-received fic?

I think it's called 'A Long Goodbye'. (Terrible, but, again, it's Mother Hubbard syndrome. Wait, no, she had the dog. Ummm... did the old lady in the shoe even have a name? Guess not. But you get the idea. Hard to remember titles sometimes.) Anyhow... HASA was very thumbs down on it. Hence, why I'm not a fan of HASA (Henneth Annun Story Archive). Considering some of the stuff that was making it through and into that archive, and what wasn't... anyhow, we won't go there...

But, that was the worst-received one. Runner-up would have been... dammit, can't recall names. I don't remember which one -- oh! Blind. Yeah. Blind was sort of bashed on someone's blog many years ago... and then a bunch of people, none of whose screen names I recognized, attacked the blogger back, and she shut up. I didn't even find out about it until two years later! So, that was very touching, seeing that people were rushing to defend my fics and I didn't even know about it. I guess the blogger just thought that a blind Erestor was a really stupid idea, from what I recall.

4. Which is your angsty-est fic?

Consequences. I mean... it's the first sign that maybe the whole Haldir/Elodien/Legolas thing isn't the best situation. He's not feeling part of the group as much anymore. Halli goes wandering, and accidentally finds out his father's not his father, and his real father kept it from him. Add to that some very uncomfortable scenes with Erestor and Gladders, and top it off with Erestor nearly dying... and then, at the end, his admitting of his secret regarding Glorfindel --- and still not telling Fin! It makes me want to slap him sometimes...

Unforgettable is runner-up, but there's just soooooo much going on in Unforgettable that the angst isn't as in your face as with Consequences.

5. Which is your funniest fic?

Everyone says it's 'Beam Me Up, Glorfindel', so I'll trust what the survey says. Besides, a fic that I wrote that I can laugh about later knowing the jokes are coming has to be funny.

And practically anything with Orophin in it turns out to be a sillyfest, too.

6. Smuttiest?

Gah... hmm... well, I suppose, go with the general consensus, and the general consensus voted Exotic Erestor back in the day. That was before Raspberries and Cream, which I think could top EE now. Personally, the ones I think are the naughtiest, though short, are from the Meanwhile, in Rivendell series -- Take Me. I'm Yours. & Love Me

7. Fluffiest?

Fluff'n'Stuff. Or...

No, Erestor giving Melpomaen a puppy and everyone ending up in his bed during a thunderstorm wins. Even though it's got other stuff in there, too, it's got lots of fluff.

8. Have you ever made someone cry with a fic?

Yes. There's been a few of them, but usually the emails I get are from people who have read And Morgoth Trembled, and it's at the beginning when Erestor and Glorfindel make the decision to keep the baby left on the doorstep, and it's again at the end when the not-a-perfect-fairtale-ending happens and yet Thranduil gives them the nudge to go to the wedding anyhow. There are so many people who read that and thought I had to be a parent from the way it was written, and I think that was the biggest writing compliment I've ever received.

9. Which fic frustrates you the most?

I'd say Unforgettable, but that's more my fault than anything else. I just keep letting characters in. Beyond that.... it's a fic called A Year of Madness (aka Nightmares) that just... blarg. That one, and Center Stage. Neither one is working for me anymore, mostly because I've now taken elements from each and woven the best parts of what was supposed to happen into the bunniverse, so I'd only be self-plagiarizing to finish them.

10. Which fic was the most fun to write?

The Good Archer, because I wrote that with my brother Jake. It was the first one we'd done together, and it was just so much fun. Second to that would probably be To Worship You, which Laura and I wrote together. I really enjoy cowriting, and miss not doing that more often.

11. Who is your favorite OC you've ever created?

Oh boy. Well... the first OC I created was Valarda, so I have a soft spot for her. Nenniach was the second one, so again, they're like family. I don't even feel like they're OCs because they've been around so long. Same thing with Elodien. Valarda is my favorite of those three, though.

As for male OCs, I really like Celebdreth and Ilmendin and Faelion, but a character not often seen in the writings that I really love is Rondan, Elladan's son. I have so many in-my-head stories about him, but I haven't been able to get to more than mentioning him a few times. The short of it is that he's a boxer, and since Elladan's wife is a Maia in the bunniverse, that makes Rondan just slightly over half ainur. He ends up in some great adventures because of this, probably a little bordering into gary stu territory at times.

Another one that doesn't get seen much is Eladion, who appears in Unforgettable as a healer in the House of the Fountain, but doesn't get seen after that. I'll spoil this now - he makes it out of Gondolin, and he's going to show up in Valinor. Another in-my-head-not-typed-up-yet story. Just an interesting character, you'll have to take my word for it (guess people will pay a little more attention to him in Unforgettable).

12. Are you better at oneshot or multipart?

Is mega-universes an answer I can use?

13. What character do you think you're the best at portraying?

I think I pull off a decent Feanor, and not too bad on the rest of his sons. I can't go with Erestor or Glorfindel or Haldir etc on this question, because I've added so much non-canon to them. But the majority of Finwe's house actually I've tried to keep fairly consistent with canon-stuff (with obvious, obvious exceptions)

14. What character is the most difficult to portray?

Morgoth -- it's not as easy as it seems it would be, to be only evil enough to be evil, but not evil enough to have Elves going 'hey, I think he might be a bad guy'
