Brownies, and my life at the present

And maybe someday I’ll write a book about it. Well, considering I just went and said something about it over on the JFA list, and because my LB list mods have been telling me to say something because it’s been eating at me for weeks upon weeks now, I suppose it’s best to post at my regular haunts.
My younger brother is going to be leaving for Iraq in about a month. He won’t be going with his artillery unit; instead, the people who are heading an infantry unit asked him to transfer to their group instead. He’s a great tactician- he whups everyone’s butt at Risk, Chess, Monopoly, and Candyland, etc., so with any luck, he can put his skills to work as needed. I will be on edge over the next year or two or however long lil bro is over there (expect angst-filled fiction), I will be dealing with on edge parents and little sisters. The ranger, well, he’s going to have his hands full until my brother gets back, I have no doubt of that.
This is coming only a few months after the unexpected death of my uncle, a happy and exuberant guy who somehow lost hope and shot himself, followed a few weeks later by the death of the ranger’s uncle after his house burned down.
I’ve asked for a refund on the year, because it’s simply been one thing after another, various other things which I shall not begin to bore everyone with. So my apologies in advance regarding my future foul moods, my recent past snarkiness, and other assorted unpleasantries any of you might be subjected to due to my real life dealings. *huggles* to those of you who have managed to get through this; I think I’m going to go cuddle Glorfindel and have some brownies. Brownies are helpful like that. And the elf cuddling isn’t half bad, either.
