  1. books:
I am a librarian. I have a book-loving gene. I used to read encyclopaedias. Yes, read them. Yes, more than one. I like the Canadian versions best, but American and English are nice, too.
  2. cheesecake:
Cheesecakes are delicious, but I think my brother loves them more than I even do. I like them with blueberries or strawberries or chocolate chips (in that order, the three favorites), or with practically anything else. Yes, Glorfindel has a cheesecake obsession in my world, but that's really my brother's cheesecake fetish that got transferred to that muse. Although, I do make a damned good cheesecake.
  3. cowboy erestor:
Yippeeyiya, git along li'l elfies... Ever since writing Exotic Erestor, I tend to think of Erestor less in robes and more with a rope...and cowboy hat, boots, etc. Up on a horsie, bandana 'round his neck, smirking... *turns on fan* mmmkay, next question...
  4. elves:
Elves, elves, elves... and ever since seeing Two Towers in the theatres, the reason for continuing to watch the movies was based less on 'I want to watch how they have Gollum's character develop' to 'Oh, my God, they killed Haldir... you bastards!'.

'Sides, better that I write Elf stories than Hobbit stories, no?
  5. fanart:
I love to look at what others have done in terms of artistic visions of other people's thoughts and concepts. I love it more when they are my thoughts and concepts that people are artistically visioning, but then, we all have a ego of some sort, no? Especially, though I myself do dabble, I'm always loving to see things that the ranger-husband is working on, and of course all the wonderful people who are artists on me friends list and beyond. They help to feed my writing obsessionage. (Which reminds me - Gwy - I was having issues with LJ the day I was trying to post on the pic you did of Erestor and Glorfindel in the library, which was faboo and ended up as my desktop ^_^ and made me quite bouncy, but then I couldn't track down again the journal entry, and then time passed, stuff happened, yadda yadda ya... suffice to say, I loves it *snergles*)
  6. glorfindel:
Glorfindel... balrog slayer... first Tolkien character I was ever told about... in a high school discussion about reincarnation. Yeah, filed his name away, never remembered to look it up. You should have seen me bouncing and squeeing when his name popped up years later as I read Lord of the Rings. And now, he is chief muse. Lover of cheesecake. Go him.
  7. harry potter:
Not so much the character as the 'world of' harry potter. For three straight years I was the hostess for the annual harry potter party at the public library. Played a drop-out wizard who got kicked out actually for flushing Moaning Myrtle the first year; the head of Hufflepuff House (for the Summer Session of Hogwarts for Muggles) the second year, and Headmistress the third year (same character for years two and three- Melanae Buttercup, who during the rest of the year is one of the beaters for the Dunharrow Dragons...). When I'm 'out and about' pretending to be wizardly, though, I go around as Bellatrix Lestrange. It's nice to be good, but it's fun to be evil.
  8. libraries:
See entry number one - although, I suppose the two don't have to go hand in hand. I just love libraries. Wonderful little places, no two exactly alike (not even Carnegie Libraries turned out the same). Love 'em.
  9. nahar:
Nahar, the one horse, the first horse, the horse to rule them all. Orome's horse, and even better than Shadowfax. Even better than Asfaloth... unless you do what I did, and make Asfaloth just another name for Nahar and give Glorfindel Nahar when he is brought back from the dead.
  10. prince:
When I was in 5th grade, everyone else was falling in love with members of the New Kids on the Block. I didn't even know the names of the members of the band, plus, I thought they were stupid. And lame. And stupid. I liked Prince. So he's not the tallest guy- but his music spoke to me (yeah, even the pervy stuff... so I was a perv at an early age... just means I made it to the gutter faster...). I heard his music before knowing who he was; mum bought me his androgynous album for my 12th birthday. I still have the cassette in my car, and blast it while driving, you sexy mutherfucker.

(and then, I did the other three, too...)

snarves
Schnarf, schnarf. I know someone else came up with the whole spelling snarfs as snarves concept, but then I went and used it lots and lots and promoted it, and then others caught on, etc. Maybe it was in print form before the late 90s when all that was going on (ah, the late 90s... late night chats about all things fur, and the trash compactor of sudden doom, TeenNow magazine fights... those were the days). So, anyhow, I do like snarves (they're tasty...) and I even rpged for them back in the day, and I still have my snarf slaves, er, servants, um... some snarves I adopted from Jet.. on my site... let's move on...

tolkien
Ah, the professor. He and I, in the great beyond, he's going to have much to lecture me on. Much indeed.

I do enjoy his work muchly. Not just on a surface level of 'wow, great stuff, old boy'. No, no... much more than that. Languages and character history and genealogy, and development, geography, etc etc... creating cultures and societies, making a mythology of your own. Love it. I think, if I keep working on it, keep playing with things and developing my own skills, I could be like him in a couple decades. (Although, I think I'd be better as more of an Asimovish writer... he was a perv, I'm a perv... there's something about that perv factor...)

watching glorfindel smooch erestor [yeah, it's listed as an interest cause it is]
I don't know quite what it is (hmm, the perv factor again?), but there's something about Glorfindel kissing Erestor (well, or I suppose the other way around, but more Fin kissing Ress) that is just utterly wonderful. And that's all I have to say about that.
